Dear friends,

Often small, seemingly important things are of great significance and may have great effects. For instance, by enjoying vegetarian foodstuffs, you are paying a great service to nature and the animals. They contribute to lessening the immense suffering of many animals and you will have – consciously or unconsciously – rescued the life of many an animal. For this reason and in the name of the many, many nameless animals, we want to thank you for this.

We animal and nature friends of the International Gabriele Foundation are also convinced that the animals need our help! Due to all that is done each day to animals worldwide, they are dependent on people who not only talk about animal protection, but really do something for them.

Thus, with the founding of the International Gabriele Foundation a few years ago by several animal and nature friends, a kind of making amends to animals was initiated. A sanctuary for animals has developed where animals destined for death find a home and can live their lives in dignity. Cattle of varying species, for example, Hinterwald, Saler, Blonde d’Aquitane, Scottish Highland and Simmental, live peacefully together in large families. And one of them is Lena, a prominent cow, who made headlines in Southern Germany. She jumped off a moving transporter that was taking her to the slaughterhouse, thus saving her own life and that of her two unborn calves. Many sheep, for example, Cameroon sheep, wool sheep, Mufflons, were also rescued, some from freezing to death and others from the butcher's knife; they live together in small flocks on the meadows of the Land of Peace. Geese, ducks, as well as several horses, donkeys, peacocks and chickens whose freedom was purchased also populate the meadows. All the animals have shelters worthy of them and receive good, healthy food. They are getting to know people as their friends and can thus unfold their true, noble being. Once »dangerous« bulls, whom their previous owners warned us about, let themselves be petted and scratched by their animal keepers and treated to pieces of apples...

On the still small stretch of land of the International Gabriele Foundation, animals living freely in the wild, such as deer, foxes, field hares and birds, regain their natural habitats in a connective biotope system consisting of over 15 kilometers of hedges, wooded areas, tree islands and stone and wetland biotopes. Within this system – which, by the way, is the largest private connective biotope system in Germany – are fields that are cultivated in peaceable farming, without poisons, manure or slurry, by farmers that are friends of the foundation. In this way, nature as a whole can breathe a sigh of relief, and many animal and plant species are settling in again - also those threatened with extinction.

The activities of the International Gabriele Foundation for the well-being of animals are also attracting attention and spreading out. Many people, in the vicinity as well as all over the world, are keeping an eye on the growing Land of Peace. They see that a new, peaceful living together of people, nature and animals is possible. And they take what they have seen, experienced, heard or read as an example and incentive to help animals and nature in their own surroundings.

For this reason, we want to rescue still many, many animals from torment and death and to provide an example and guidelines for still many people for a New Era, in which the Golden Rule »Do unto others as you would have them do unto you« also applies to the animals and nature.

Dear animal lovers, you know that animals do not have a strong money lobby and are instead dependent on people who follow their hearts – and help according to their possibilities. If you also want to join us and help animals and give them joy, particularly in winter, the animals say to you:
